The Story of Ted and Ed

Come and listen to our story 'bout Ted and Ed,
Cheap Yankee boys who work back in the shed.
One rainy day as they're walking to the bar,
Up drives a drunk in a funny little car.

     Crosley it was.
     Tiny seats.
     Engine leaks.

Well the boys made a deal and it didn't cost them much,
But the car needed work, like motor mounts and clutch.
And when they got it home they found it needed floors,
'Cause the rust had eaten them, and the fenders and the doors.

     Bargain it was.
     Shorted wires.
     Needed tires.

"This car could save us money as we drive to the still,
But we can't afford the parts and perhaps we never will."
So they made some parts to fit from some junk that was out back,
And they even covered the seats with a worn out flour sack.

     Cute little car.
     Axle shakes.
     Cable brakes.

It wasn't very long 'till others came around,
Seems they needed parts for the Crosleys they had found.
Well, them Yankees would oblige them and make a special part,
Or even help them out if their Crosley wouldn't start.

     Business it was.
     Resurrecting trash.
     Makin' cash.

Well, the next thing you know, our boys are hundredaires,
And their families all said, "You should sell more of your wares."
So they loaded up their truck, in the summer they were gone.
They headed to Ohio, to a place called Wauseon.

     Crosley heaven.
     Neat machines.
     Soy beans.

Now you've heard the history of them crazy Yankee boys,
And how they helped some others fixin' up their Crosley toys.
The Yankee Crosley Business is going to expand,
'Till the Crosley name is famous, known again throughout the land.

     Powel would be proud.
     Have a smile.
     Save a pile.

So if you have a neighbor with a Crosley in his shed,
Have him write or give a phone call to either Ted or Ed.
They'll help you with your project, be it car or be it truck,
And they'll gladly take your money and they'll wish you lots of luck.
